PowderLog Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-05-04
PowderLog (the "App") is operated by Wolf Technologies. This Privacy Policy explains what
information we collect when you use PowderLog, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
-
Account information. When you create an account we collect your email
address and a unique user identifier so we can sync your sessions across devices and
authenticate you.
-
Precise GPS location data. While you are actively recording a ski or
snowboard session, the App collects precise GPS coordinates, speed, altitude, heading,
and timestamps. Location collection only happens during an active recording session.
-
Device information. Basic technical information such as device model,
operating system version, and crash diagnostics so we can fix bugs and improve
reliability.
-
Purchase history. Subscription status (free, or Premium monthly/yearly)
so we know which features to unlock for your account.
-
Product interaction. Anonymised feature usage (which screens you visit,
which actions succeed or fail) so we can improve the product.
How We Use Your Information
- To record and visualise your ski sessions, runs, speed, distance, and vertical metrics.
- To compute leaderboards (where you opt in to share results).
- To power friend and social features such as following other riders and comparing stats.
- To deliver subscription benefits and process payments.
- To provide customer support and respond to your enquiries.
Data Sharing
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for
advertising or marketing. We share data only with the following service providers, and only
to the extent required to operate PowderLog:
- Apple — processes in-app purchases on iOS. Apple's own privacy policy applies to those transactions.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosts the application backend, database, and authentication (Cognito) in the eu-west-2 region.
Data Retention
We retain your account, session history, and subscription information until you delete your
account. After deletion we remove all personal data associated with your account, including
GPS tracks and subscription records, except where we are required by law to retain certain
records (for example, billing records for tax purposes).
Your Rights
You can exercise the following rights at any time:
- Access — view your data through the in-app Logbook and Profile screens.
- Deletion — delete your account and all associated personal data via the in-app Settings page (Profile → Delete Account).
- Correction — update your profile information at any time from the Settings page.
- Withdraw consent — revoke location permission via your device settings, or stop recording at any time.
Children
PowderLog is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with
personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes we will update the effective date at the top of this page and,
where appropriate, notify you in the App.
